  1. This was so helpful! Thankyou :) I was wondering, if i buy a Shure SM57,,, would there be any point buying a Shure SM58 for studio recording too?

  2. Thanks for the information! little question: what do who think about the Rode NT1-A condenser?

  3. Excellent Ronan. Thanks!

  4. i have to agree about the shure ksm32 best 500 dollar mic ever. even though i got mine when it first came out for 250 on a special promotion :) ) the mini one is good to its only 250 or 300

  5. thanks a lot for this great vid. i really was thinking about to buy the mxl v67, but it was hard to find some usable informations about, until now. so i’am going to buy one of these. thanks !

  6. Hey, you have some really informative posts on gearslutz, and I didn’t know you had some vids posted, very helpful! Thanks!

  7. The best thing about an SM57 is that they are extremely directional. They help keep the instruments isolated, they help keep out unwanted sounds. And, they can take extremely high sound levels, like 3 inches from a loud guitar amp, no problem. Or, 3 inches from a snare, no problem.

  8. What about the Samson Q7 or Q8? Are they good mics, too? Or the Neumann?

  9. panama, he’s recommending these things from experience. He may not have used to the SP mic’s. But to say he doesn’t know what he’s talking about it is shortsighted and kinda dumb. The man is world renown and him along with many other world renown producers recommend both of those mics.Yes, I do like SP mic’s. I have and use an SP C1 and am looking to get another along with a t3. But I also have a pair of v67’s and sm57’s… both of which are more versatile than the SP mics.

  10. Ronan is THE BEST!
