How Do You Record The Audio Output Of A Macbook Pro In Highest Quality?

I have a software drum machine that I’m programming beats in, but the program has no way of exporting the beat as a Wav, AIFF, etc.
It sounds perfect when I play it in the program and when I listen over headphones. Is there any way I can just play the beat and record my MacBook Pro’s audio output as a high quality audio file that would work in Garageband?
If anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated.
